Discover Medfield Day 2025 will continue a long-standing tradition as it celebrates its 45th anniversary on Saturday, September 27th, when the annual fall fair takes place in downtown Medfield. The Medfield Employers and Merchants Organization, Inc. (MEMO) has sponsored the event since 1980, following its creation as a local business group designed not only to support its members through networking and educational programs, but also to establish a presence in the community by promoting local businesses and service vendors.
Medfield is a residential community with a small commercial base, most businesses being “mom and pop” operations scattered throughout several sections of town zoned for business or industry. As malls and larger towns developed their own shopping centers years ago, many residents left town for purchases and services. Since 1980, however, a movement has been underway to help people discover the businesses and services located right here in town. Over time, Discover Medfield Day has expanded to include civic and service organizations as well, many of which use the event to raise money for their philanthropic projects.
On the day of the fair, a festive atmosphere fills downtown with brightly decorated exhibit booths and the happy shouts of children enjoying games and inflatables in Kids’ Alley. Friends and family greet one another after their summer activities and come together to welcome the fall season. Visitors stroll through the area exploring booths, learning about sales, giveaways, and raffles.

Planning for the event usually begins early in the year and registration opens in May. The steering committee planning the day is composed of members of MEMO representing local and area businesses. As in past years, a raffle and silent auction will be held at the MEMO booth throughout the day. Funds from the raffle and auction provide scholarships annually to Medfield High School and Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School students. In June this year, MEMO awarded $3,000 in scholarships.
The Medfield High School Student Council plays an important role in Discover Medfield Day by organizing and coordinating student volunteers from across the community. These students help keep the day running smoothly, lending their energy and enthusiasm from setting up the ground and monitoring the Kids’ Alley rides.
The committee welcomes more than 140 exhibitors who have registered for this year’s Discover Medfield Day. Exhibitors are reminded that they have the opportunity to earn a free booth for 2026 by decorating or setting up their booth in the spirit of the theme. This year’s theme for Discover Medfield Day is “Hats Off to Medfield.” Judges will visit each booth, and the one considered the best representation of the theme will be selected as “Best Booth” and awarded a free booth for Discover Medfield Day 2026.
MEMO wishes to thank all its sponsors for their generous support of Discover Medfield Day 2025. Needham Bank is recognized as the Platinum Sponsor, GEICO Local Office as the Gold Sponsor, and Middlesex Savings Bank as the Silver Sponsor. Bronze Sponsors include Rockland Trust, Mitchell Construction Group, LLC, Montrose School, Gastaldo Waste & Recycle, and APC Pest & Termite Control, Inc.
